Project Description:

Students in ESS 101 will have an expanded module of the course that will focus on climate change writ large to include the mechanisms of climate change, its effects on the environment, plants, animals, and human populations, and how the consequences of these negative effects are borne unequally by certain sectors of society. They will work in groups using leadership principles they are learning through the SUMMIT initiative. A specific example of climate change-induced injustice will be chosen by each group and then studied in-depth to provide a comprehensive perspective on the injustice and its impact on the environment and society. Student groups will present the results of their work in recorded sessions that will become part of the WGLC’s Online Showcase.
