• Reflections from the Green Zone of COP26

    By Leah Trotman Two weeks ago, I had the privilege of attending Week 1 of COP26 in Glasgow, Scotland. Known as the Conference of the Parties, COP is a yearly gathering of member-countries who originally signed the 1992 United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). COPs are split into two sections: the Blue Zone and the Green Zone. In the former, country delegates, presidents, and prime ministers meet to negotiate future climate policy. In the latter, the public mixes and mingles with youth groups, businesses, civil societies, and others to learn how they are engaging with the current impacts of climate change through tangible action.
