    Jordan Keesler: Appalachian Academic The Scottie Climate Stories were submissions to a course (PH/ESS 202) taught by Dr. Viniece Jennings entitled ‘Environmental and Public Health Communication.’ The course focuses on communication practices and theories related to public health, the environment, and sustainability. It includes a particular emphasis on strategies for promoting behavior change as well as empowering individuals and communities. Storytelling is a technique used in the course to achieve its goals and learning objectives. In this assignment, students were tasked to develop questions, conduct an interview and write an article geared to a lay audience.   • Deadline Extended – Student Showcase: Call for Posters!

    The 2021 conference will feature a student showcase highlighting completed and in progress research by Georgia college students, including graduate students, and Atlanta-area high school students (grades 9-12). The student showcase will span two days. The Thursday, September 23 showcase will take place from 11:30am – 1:30pm and will be in person on Agnes Scott College’s campus. Presenters will be assigned to a 30 to 45-minute session when they will share their research with conference participants. On Friday, September 24, 2021 from 12-1pm, the conference will stream virtual/digital presentations from students who did not participate in the Thursday in-person session. However, ALL students will have the opportunity to create a virtual presentation of their research, which will be made available to the attendees via the conference…
